Explore the multiple factors that influence the effectiveness of blade use.
2024/8/2

In the processing work on the way, the insert as the core component of the cutting tool, the use of its effect is directly related to the processing efficiency, processing quality and tool life. The use of insert effect is not a single factor can decide, it is subject to the material, insert parameters, cutting parameters and working conditions and other factors.

Material is the first factor affecting the use of insert effect. The material of the insert needs to match the material of the workpiece to ensure the effectiveness and durability of the cutting process. For example, for higher hardness of the workpiece, you need to choose a higher hardness, better wear resistance of the blade material, in order to avoid rapid wear of the blade in the cutting process. At the same time, the hardness of the insert is also a key indicator, which directly affects the cutting ability and service life of the insert.

Blade parameters also have a significant impact on the use of results. The design of parameters such as arc, chamfer width, chamfer angle and passivation all affect the cutting performance of the insert. The design of the arc affects the cutting force and cutting temperature of the insert, while the width and angle of the chamfer relate to the sharpness and cutting stability of the insert. Passivation improves the durability of the insert and reduces wear during the cutting process.

Cutting parameters are also important factors in determining the effectiveness of an insert. Linear speed, depth of cut and feed are three parameters that need to be adjusted according to specific machining requirements and workpiece materials. Too high a line speed may lead to insert overheating, accelerated wear; and too large a depth of cut and feed may increase the load on the insert, reducing cutting stability.

Working conditions are also a factor that should not be ignored in influencing the use of inserts. Continuous cutting and intermittent cutting has a significant different impact on the wear and life of the insert. The use of coolant can effectively reduce the cutting temperature, reducing the thermal wear of the insert. The aging time, i.e. the effective use time of the insert in the machining process, is also affected by multiple factors such as material, parameters and working conditions.

In summary, the factors affecting the use of inserts are manifold, including material, insert parameters, cutting parameters and working conditions. In the actual processing, we need to take these factors into account and make reasonable selection and adjustment to ensure that the blade can achieve the best results. At the same time, for different materials and shapes of workpieces, also need to target the selection and design of inserts, in order to improve processing efficiency and quality.
